Hi all,
I have decided to try flash on my site but know nothing about it.
I found a site that had free flash templates and decided to try a carousel
but I cant find a editor to edit it? I got the template from flashmo.com.
I guess I need to edit the *.FLA file ? is there a free editor I can get for this?

I would recommended purchasing Adobe Flash CS3, it's really ideal for both editing and creating flash from scratch. Maybe giving the 30 day free trial a go, could also prove to be useful.

You are correct in thinking that the .FLA is what needs to be edited. The .swf is just an export, which carries the "movie" so to say.

It looks like the carousel that I downloaded needs to have the .jpg
files inbeded into the code.

Anyone know of a flash carousel that i can tell to look for file1.jpg file2.jpg
so that I will be able to upload new .jpg's and they will show?
