Hey everybody, im back! Been away from web design/programming for a long time. (And forgotten a lot of it ).

Urmmm, oh yeah, Im making a site now (first time getting paid ) but one thing i do have to do is put a CMS in with a wysiwyg text editor.

So 2 things:

1) Which CMS do people suggest.
They have requested i use MODx (which will become modx in a couple of months) but if there is something better to run it by them and we will see. REMEMBER IM NOT GETTING PAID MUCH SO IM STICKING TO FREE OPEN SOURCE CMS'S...especially considering they only requested a free one.

2) Ive never set a site up with a CMS before and i dont know what it involves, like what i have to do to set it up, now im guessing it will be different for each CMS so if you make a suggestion please also give tips on this or a link to a site that will help me set it up if i choose to do it.

Im sure a lot of people will suggest using Wordpress as a CMS.. which is a good idea.. it is very easy to use and modify.

There is also Joomla, which has a lot of features, but has a little bit of a learning curve.

If you do a search on the forums or google, you will find a number of other CMSs, each with there own advantages and disadvantages.

Im not much of a programmer, im more a designer, html and css...hence why i toiok up this paid project in the hope i learnt something like wordpress, php, joomla, java. etc...

Joomla is the best CMS i've ever seen. it's very easy to work with joomla, but you have to spend a little time to learn some things

Your choice probably depends on what you want to do with the site. I like WordPress for a lot. I think the learning curve is pretty shallow too. You've already seen Joomla recommended here. Drupal is another good CMS.
