I do a site for my local darts league and recently tried to alternate colors in the table using some code I found in a list apart. Everything went well until I tried to incorporate a DHTML menu code which I have been using on the site to make a menu bar.

I can't get the two things to work together. I can have either the menu bar or the colored table lines. Here is the link

As you can see I am no good with scripts so need help, which needs to be explained verrrry verrry simply

Thanks in advance

Hi Paula.
Chances are that the script uses the same function names and generates a script error as a result?
Any chance you post the error..?
Also, why not use a CSS menu instead?

For more information on CSS menus, check out this thread

Sorry I can't be of more help!

I don't seem to get an error message, the menu just doesn't display. I am only just moving over to css and haven't got a handle on all of it yet, but maybe I will have to sit down and have a good go at making the menu bar I want, because I really want to use the zebra tables.

Cheers

You have a <layer> tag inside the head tag. This shouldn't be. It seems as though some of the code is supposed to be inside the <body> if the html page. Make sure you have followed all instructions for the code the you have found.

Thanks everyone for the help. I checked the code, BravoGolf and there is indeed a function name that is being called by both pieces of javascript. It is document.getElementById. I have no idea how to correct this, or even if its possible to correct it. I looked it up in google and assume that it is a standard function. Can anyone tell me how to alter it.
I think its going to take me more than a weekend to sort out a css menu. I'm trying to learn too many things at once, I think, but I'll keep on trying.

Will check out the <layer> tag WebcyteDesign, thanks.

Cheers
