I am using a placeholder image on my page until client uploads photo, cropper has not been initiated yet. Once photo is uploaded I place it on page with width set at 300, in upload script I get the imagesize via php and I send this to javascript which determines the display height by dividing the actual width by 300 and diving the actual height by the result, I hope you are following me so far. I now have the width (always 300) and height (calculated) for the image. I have tried rewriting the dom attributes for the image as well as setting innerHTML for the image. With new image loaded I then initiate the cropper and guess what? it is scaled according to placeholder image. If the uploaded image is shorter than the placeholder the north south handles do not work properly.

This is the site:

choose "Happy Birthday" template when you get to project page upload photo then try cropping it.

Somebody please help this is the only thing stalling completion of this project!
