I am in the market to purchase Dreamweaver. I went to ebay and saw that someone had a MX Educational version for bid. Does anyone know this version has all of the functionality as the non-eductation verions? Is there going to be a liscensing issue? Any other things that I should be aware of. I am planning to use the software to develop and deploy websites.

Thanks

If I recall correctly the educational version you are not supposed to build websites / apps from it for commercial use, only learning. and if you want to do commercial, profit or non profit web sites / apps you need the normal retail version.

The educational version is 100% the same as the commercial version. There are loopholes in the law that allow venders to sell the educational version, which is half the price, to ordinary people who are not in school.

However, there are free programs that will do just as good, and might actually be better for learning on than Dreamweaver. Try Notepad++
