Hey I wanted to learn a bit more about the programming of the OSCAR protocol.
(I.e. valid commands you can use in it...)

Assuming you mean the AOL messaging protocol -> http://dev.aol.com/aim/oscar/

What language?
Python -> TwistedMatrix

Perl -> Net-OSCAR

And there is a C# version around as well.

but I'm not sure what it's called. All I know is that there is a way to like type something into an AIM box and it executes it (like go.offline= or something like that?

Ok, so you are not thinking of building your own client then

I doubt there is, the only time I've ever looked into the workings of the AIM client (long time ago) the message window would only parse things such as the emoticon shorthand.
