Can anyone point me to statistics on how many people don't have javascript .. or have javascript turned off? I'm about to purchase a template to re-design a site. I know javascript can do some neat things, but I'd like to keep the site accessible to as many as possible .. and easy to maintain (it's a volunteer organization, which may pass the Web design responsibility around from time-to-time).

You could try http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp - look about half way down the page.
Always beware stats. Think about the kind of audience that a site has before making assumptions about the stats themselves.
Bear in mind that relying solely on JavaScript for mission critical aspects of a site, such as navigation, is an accessibility no-no. Also text-only browsers do not support ( amongst other things ) JavaScript. This type of browser is more likely to be used by the visually impaired.

Yes, I understand statistics are only 'statistics,' but was just curious. And my audience covers the full spectrum of users. Those numbers are higher than I might have guessed.
