HI guys,

I just found some where a guy asking about the difference between asp and jsp language. and got surprised that he thought that asp is similar to jsp.
I don't know why he thought that but may be because the similarity between the naming of ASP and JSP.

Anyway I decided to make a comparison between the two technologies and blog them up and thought it would be nice to put it here and share it with you and see what would be your opinions and if more things needs to be added or corrected because I know well about asp but not so well about JSP

Thanks for the link. I know very little about either language (shocking, I know!), so naturally I found this very helpful. Could you give a little more info on JSP pages, and to what extent you can go while turning it into a website? I know it's Java, but - you have to draw the line SOMEwhere, don't you? Ooh, a link to a JSP page would be nice as well.

Choicing ASP or JSP, depends on your background and upon your server type. ASP is based on visual basic and runs on windows server so if you can program VB and can put up with your windows servers reliability, then use that. JSP programs are writing in java and run on apache tomcat (free), or JBOSS and IBM application servers. JSP is definitely best if your running a linux or unix server, and should work more reliabably over all. It can take a bit of work to configure tomcat to work with apache though.
