I thought I knew more about websites then I do, on my website domain.com is the same as www.domain.com and when you navigate to domain.com or www.domain.com it automatically forwards to domain.com/index.php or www.domain.com/index.php

so I have plenty of duplicate content

but how do I get out of this mess, I need a 301 redirect from domain.com to www.domain.com but how do I stop the www.domain.com/index.php, I just want www.domain.com

Believe Im sorted found loads of redirects in the htaccess

Canonicalization of your URLs
