Who here strictly develops their websites with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in mind? Personally, it's not something I think about. I should, to an extend make them a little accessible but the only things I consider when coding are making sure the css and xhtml is valid and the website works across all browsers. I probably don't focus on it much because when I'm doing paid work it is not in the brief of the project, however, when I've done personal work for myself, I always seem to forget.

What's your opinion on it?

I think it's a good idea to do, although I agree that it's difficult to implement on top of everything else. It depends on where you live, but you may already or soon will be required by law to meet minimum accessibility guidelines depending on the type of website you are creating. There have been some high-profile lawsuits in that area already and I could only imagine that they will increase.

Yeah, I had heard about the increasing amount of lawsuits against those not supporting the guidelines. But it's such a touchy area, I mean there are so many variables that if you were up for being sued, you could easily have a better defence.
