Hi,

I would like to combine a blog into a static XHTML/CSS site. I can see that there are many sites on ThemeForest that are coded in XHTML/CSS that contain a 1 page blog in their sites apart from their Home, Services, Portfolio, Contact, etc pages.

Can someone please recommend if I have a coded brochure site in XHTML and I want to add a 1 Page Blog to the site - how would I go about doing that?

Would I need to slice the PSD of the layout and have it coded in Wordpress and then install Wordpress onto the server and combine it with the site?

I am after the actual process of how I would go about it as this has been haunting me for months and I am eager to add this feature to sites.

I look forward to any suggestions or help please.

regards,
elv8.

Coding the same theme in wordpress and putting the blog as a simple button could work, but coding a wordpress theme is not easy, and could take 75-100$ if you want to hire someone to do it.

So based on this you code the static site in XHTML/CSS and then you code an additional blog page based on the original theme in wordpress and then combine the 2 together.

Would the alignments of the theme be exactly the same as the layout coded in XHTML/CSS for the static site or would they differ? I need it to be of the same alignment so it looks like a consistent website?

thanks for the input...

I second what Mimamo is saying.. I've done this on a number of occasions...

If you're confused as to how to code a WordPress template it's fairly simple.. Check out the WordPress.org website which is their open source portal and look under "extend".. Under extend there is a section for free themes you can download one and dissect it...

Or if you're really boring you can read a how-to guide lol jk :P
