I have been noticing lately that alot of search engines seem to automatically make themselfs as your homepage, I am just curious and would like to know how they manage this.

Firefox is a new browser, which is much safer than IE, it blocks all popups and also prevents alot of spyware and viruses from getting onto your computer from malicious websites.

What sorts of search engines?

If they're not big name ones, I'd assume that this is actually browser hijacking. Do a search on google (a search engine... that could almost be really horrible irony) to find out more about it, and you may want to do a system-restore, if the homepage won't go to what you want it.

That's because FireFox has a built in pop-up blocker unlike IE which there is still no plan to put one in!!! When will Microsoft learn... lol

- A popup blocker won't affect browser hijacking. This is done by exploiting holes. Popup or no popup. Keep your software up to date and you protect yourself against the problem.

- WinXP SP2 puts a popup blocker into IE. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...upblocker.mspx - Keep your software up to date and then you'll know these things!

however I still think and agree with log2 when I say that MS is a bit behind.
