I currently bought a ssl certificate for xyz.com domain name. Everything works good so far but the problem comes when I have images or menus hosted somewhere else. The menu and images have an absolute path to another domain name abc.com. If I add the 's' to the url of the remotely hosted menus and images I get a security alert window.

Is there any way or script to use for being able to use the ssl certificate with absolute URLs to another site?.

No, you will need to purchase another certificate for the other domain. There's no way around it.
