I need to make a fairly good search feature for the site I am doing, but lack the knowledge on how to do it or even find anyone who does. The thing I am trying to duplicate is the advanced search feature found on http://www.creativewallcovering.com/...ed_search.php. This will be utilized on a residential wallpaper manufacturer's website so the purpose is really the same. I have searched and there are about 97,432 websites out there that have a very similarly formatted advanced_search.php, so I assume this is common and someone can help me out.

Not to seem like I am throwing an ad out there, but my client is willing to pay for this, so if you cannot tell me how/where to do this by myself, if anyone knows how to set it up and is willing, talk to me as well. I would prefer to figure out how to do it though as it's a personal issue now.

The advanced search script on that site is part of the free OSCommerce shopping cart package. The reason why you see it on a number of sites is because it is widely used and (being free) is an excellent choice for businesses.

It seems you are using a different system for your shopping cart, so that particular advanced search system would not work on your site. You really have two options:

1. Convert to OSCommerce. This will require PHP and MySQL on your server, but the software is free, secure and very powerful. It will control the catalogue, shopping cart and ordering process, and all you need to do is to give it details of your payment processor. The disadvantage is that all items must be re-entered into a database.

2. Develop a script of your own. There may be one included with your current shopping cart system, but as the data is stored in standard HTML pages it may be difficult to search.
