hi there ,
i'm new here, wondering if you guys could help me........ anywho, when i make changes to my site, i have to refresh my browser for them to show, is there a server side script or anything that would make this happen on the fly? and does that happen because of cookies? could someone tell me why?

it does happen cos of cookies.

put this in the head part of the page.
<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" >

this will "stop" browsers from caching your pages. so the browser will go to the server and get the page.

so u donot have to refresh.. cos the browser will go to the server and the page on the server will be the updated one.

hope this helps

You might not want to implement this as a permenent solution. Although it allows you to see updates without refreshing, it will also mean that your pages may take longer to load and you may have more data transfer, due to the fact that return visitors will need to download your pages again.

Although this won't be a problem for a small site, as a site grows it can become quite a major issue.
