Hi All,

I have a form on a page with 3 fields - Name, Notes and Password. This isn't a standard login form or anything - it's simply a form to view and change information - only you need to enter a password to change the Name and Notes. Not very secure, but it doesn't need to be - and it's only going to be up for 3 weeks.

Unfortunatly browsers seem to mistake it for a login form and constantly ask if I want to save the password. This is useless since the name will change each time - and it's not actually a login form.

Anyone know of any code or changes or anything I can use to stop browsers mistaking it for a login form?

This happens whenever you use a password input field. You could change it to a normal text one, but this would mean that the password is not hidden (turned into *s). As far as I know, the browser cannot be instructed to not show that message.

The oly way you can do it is to tell your browser not to save any login details, but this defeats the object as this would mean that no sites you needed to have your browser remember your login details for would have those details saved.

No way around it I'm afraid. It's one of those occasions when a useful tool in a browser becomes a pain in the proverbial.
