Why would I want an alternative to cPanel, I hear you ask...

Well, it's not that I don't like it, it's just too difficult to customise to fit in with my site (not the one in my sig...).

Basically, I'd love a control panel for my users that will take the necessary details (ie. their hosting plan & limits) and be their control panel. Like cPanel, but a whole lot simpler! Something I can play about with and edit to suit the design of my site.

Tried google and the scripts sites, but can't find much.

Any pointers would be nice

No, but I was looking for something that would integrate with the WHM that I've already got.

Think I'll just simplify cPanel as much as I can.

harveycarpenter,

Don't know if your version of cPanel has Fantastico installed but I know that there is a Web Host Manager script that you can install ontop of cPanel. I can't remember its name and haven't used it, but thought you might want to investigate it and see if it would work for you.

Hope that helps,

Kaiman

If you want total control over features and design, your best bet is to write your own control panel.

We use RVskin on top of cPanel and it really cleans it up nicely and makes it easy for our customers. You can also create your own pages to include into cpanel. RVskin just started supporting smarty, so you can have full control of the design to integrate it completly with your site design.

RVskin looks really good; I think I'll give that a try.

Also, it seems I've overlooked the fact that you can restrict options to certain packages on WHM. Silly me.

Thanks for the help
