I am looking for a nice easy CSs / DHTML or javascript (possibly combination of all) drop down menu.

I understand the principle of having a layer that is hidden which is shown when you hover over the link but how to code it is another matter entirely

Any good examples would be great thanks

Take a look at Tigra Menu. It can do what you want and more.

Thanks the only problem is you have to buy it & probably dont code it yourself.
I would rather not have to buy a tool but find code that I can adapt or learn to write myself.
The program must write code for you - I can do some javascript, teach asp & .net stuff so figure I can at least read & devolve code & learn from there. Funds are limited right now tho & i hate the fact that you end up with so many tools on your computer
That said will download the demo & try it out
Thanks

Tigra is free

But may be a little complex depending on your needs, CSS Dropdown looks nice and simple.
