I am currently building a site for myself and I am having one problem. Everytime I scroll my mouse over a link, a blue highlight appears.

Can someone help me out with this?

I think you should leave them in they look good.

However if you want to remove them then remove:

Quote:
class="sideboxmenu"

Thank you for the response. The problem is when I add links to pictures, the picture forms a blue border around it. Can I remove the blue border off any links that I apply to pics?

Yeah thats doable. Just open up your style sheet color-scheme.css and remove the following code from it:

Quote:
.sideMenuBox a:hover {background-color: #6487dc;}

Chris,

Thanks again. What can I use to view .css files? Forget it. I see I can open it with Frontpage or Notepad, DOH!

Yeah. Although NotePad is pretty poor as text editors go. http://www.emeditor.com is pretty good.

OK, the pictures do not have that blue border anymore, however, the links about now turn white when you scroll over them.

Is there a way that I can have the blue sroll over the links and not the pictures?

You have to separate the classes.

First of all, re-add teh blue background.

Then put this into your css file:
#picture A:link,#picture A:HOVER,#picture A:ACTIVE,#picture A:VISITED { color: #000000;}

Now in the links that are used for your pictures, put class="picture" in the a href tag.

It SHOULD solve it

Thank you. Would it be possible to be more specific on the instructions? I added the one line back, but I'm not sure where to add the line in the .css file and in the code for the pictures.

Thank you.

<a href="education.html">class="picture"><img border="0" src="images/schoolBK.jpg" width="176" height="114" align="left"></a><br>
&nbsp;</div>

This still doesn't work. This is what I have:

<span class="picture"><a href="education.html"></a><img border="0" src="images/schoolBK.jpg" width="176" height="114" align="left"></a><br>
&nbsp;</div>
