What forum software?

By 'embedding' what do you mean? Do you just want to update the theme so it looks like part of your site, or are you trying to merge your existing login system (if you have one) with the login for the board?

its pretty simple you dont need much knowledge of php decide which forum you want to use, most of them come with a installation manual anyway

To modify it to look like your site can take a little bit of work, but with most of the systems I mentioned, you can edit the template files they use, which are just HTML with some extra tags that get replaced with the dynamic content.

If your using a template engine on your site you could use the ob_ methods to buffer output of the forum, assign that output to a template var then call ob_flush and hey presto.

Of course you will have to tweek it and nothing goes right 1st time round.

I embedded PHPBB into my site and I use XTemplate for code seperation. I spent a good week messing with it only to realise that it was an overkill. I then dropped it and wrote my own.

However it looked fine and displayed well in my content area without messing up my menu's or anything else.

Without PHP it won't even run at all. You need a new host.....
