Hi guys and gals. I need some help here. I want to write a Perl CGI script for my website. What I want the script to do is.

Okay I want a user to login and post his/her name select an option, and enter a time. Then I want to make it so they log back in and enter a out time. Basically I want to write a sign-in/sign-out script that writes the info to a SQL database.

Can anyone help please? Or point me to a good and very detailed website on teaching you how to code in perl? I've looked all over the net for a script like this but with no luck.

use PHP... If I understand what you are meaning, it will be VERY easy to do this. You're talking about just logging the time an "employee" starts and finishes work? Right?

yes basically, but not employee. well my website is a gaming clan site and i want to log that info into a database and somehow get a graph or something to see who is the most active member in what category.

so you want to log who came in, visited what page, when and for how long? or just who hit what page?

Nope, My fault i didnt explain more. We have practice twice a week we play matches every so often and other events. I want to set it up so right before an event the log in for that event. And after the event log out from the event. Basically like a time card. On that time card I want there Name, have them chose what event they are signing in for, and the time they signed in. The I want them to come back to there time card and sign out after the event with the time they got done. I also want to make a part where and admin can log into and find out who was the most active person, the one with the most time spent doing the events ect...
