Ok, I am trying to create a website for my science teacher, and things are going fine...until, theres one thing I don't know how to do.

My teacher wants a script that can have students register, and then go to a specific "forum" type thing where he can post a question, and then students respond. Only...students can only see his post and their own, not others. CAN THIS BE DONE? I can't do it in Ikonboard or Invisionboard. Can anyone custom make me a script for this?

I've done both, though mostly PHP and find PHP much easier to develop in. They are both pretty much capable of doing whatever you want.

Right. I guess I would have gotten that if I'd read the whole thing.

Can you use other software like Phorum? Or is this an assignment. Anyway, the custom 'script' is not a small project.

I tried using Ikonboard and IPB, neither worked to my satisfaction. Guess I need to take one and edit the way it runs...

I could make that for you in perl. Although my work computer is down STUPID WINDOWS lol.
-------
Anyways heres a good way you could do it.

Have a student signup with a unique username and password of there choice.

Have it written to two databases, one with just usernames, and the other usernames, and passwords.

The usersnames are then listed for your teacher and the students who then are able to click on the username of there choice. They are then asked for a username passsword combination that is tied in with the post. If no match there thrown out. Pretty cool hehe.

Anyways not that difficult to do.

If you feel like waiting till my computer is fixed (tuesday cross your fingers hehe) I will do it for you.

Although you did never answer " myrealtypage " question -- Is it an assignment??

It's not an assignment (its for my Bio teacher). He asked me to come up with this for him to use. I told him if I couldn't do it, I knew some people who could help me.

ACJavascript, I can wait. Since it's not an assignment, there is no due date.
