whats up, im robb, this is my first post; hope we can learn from each other.

i have been designing webpages for about 2 years using static pages only, tables, etc.. easy stuff

now i am getting into xml and css for site development, so my site are more accesible to different users.

anyway, i would like learn how to make the dynamic pages. i want to start with simple xml based dynamic pages and then move to more complex applications.

can anyone give some helpful info, tutorials, sites on industry standards for dynamic xml pages

also any other info on the most popular types of programming for dynamic pages

Hi Robb,

I'm not sure if you want to start learning how to create dynamic web pages with XML.

Do you have any programming background or experience?

For dynamic pages, I think a good starting point would be PHP or ASP. There are loads of sites that have free tutorials, code, etc on both of these.

Hope this helps.

For dynamic pages, my advice would still be PHP or ASP to begin with. It depends on your preference. If you're familiar with VB, ASP is very easy to pickup. PHP is also not difficult to pickup I've heard. PHP seems to be a bit more popular now since it's open source and not Microsoft. And Microsoft has moved away from ASP to ASP.NET

As for me, i prefer PHP - it's great! And if you ever used C++, it will be quite easy to learn. They are quite similiar
