A mixture of Javascript a DOCTYPE and mod_rewrite

So I'm messing with my admin section and add some URL rewrites and BAM I get a JS errort complaining about DOCTYPE.

I modified my doctype to be transitional and strict and one or two others but nothing got my JS working again. It was a simple re-write from ?mode=ma to /mode/ma/ and as far as I can see should not have effected the page at all.

Anyway URL are back to normal.

I tend to agree with mgraphic and what he's saying in a roundabout way. Sometimes the stupidest things work for the stupidest reasons. This sounds like one of those things.

You should do what I usually do when I stumble upon something like that.

1) Accept it.
2) Shut up about it.
3) Say thanks.
4) Don't let on to anyone else that you have no clue why it works.
5) If it stops working, blame the documentation, Google, Microsoft, your ISP, the power company, and the idiot coworker who insists on pissing you off by yapping in your ear while you try to work. IT WASN'T YOUR FAULT.

Shaking my fist and making obscene sounds and gestures didn't do any good either.

I chose #1 but #5 sounds appealing.

Odd behaviour indeed.
