I tend to agree with mgraphic and what he's saying in a roundabout way. Sometimes the stupidest things work for the stupidest reasons. This sounds like one of those things.
You should do what I usually do when I stumble upon something like that.
1) Accept it.
2) Shut up about it.
3) Say thanks.
4) Don't let on to anyone else that you have no clue why it works.
5) If it stops working, blame the documentation, Google, Microsoft, your ISP, the power company, and the idiot coworker who insists on pissing you off by yapping in your ear while you try to work. IT WASN'T YOUR FAULT.
