First I would search online for websites with information about XML and PHP.

Second I would check out http://www.epinions.com/ and see what the people there recommend. They are just regular people who write reviews on the products they have bought.

Everything from candy to zippered mattress covers is there.
And the database is growing larger by the day.

Some starters for the books are:
XML reviews are pretty non-existant. Go to second page for a few:
http://www.epinions.com/search/?subm...rch_string=XML

PHP slightly better results:
http://www.epinions.com/search/?sear...4&mem_search=0

Also do a check on Amazon.com and see if anyone reviewed a PHP or XML book there.

Good luck.

I tend to like the O'Reilly's books myself and as a result I never really looked at other books before now. Fortunately for me, I'm starting to get free review copies of books so I may over time loose my bias for O'Reilly... I just wonder where I'm going to keep all these web related books I have! I gave up counting after 30 (and those are just the O'Reilly's!)
