I'm not really sure where to post this but I was wondering how it is that some sights are able to syndicate full articles rather than just titles and a short description which you can do with RSS. I know several sites that are not news sites but they are able to syndicate full length news articles on their site.

Is this some sort of an agreement between the site and the newspaper or is it possible for anyone to enjoy such things?

Having done some of that on www.canadalawyer.org (Globe and Mail section), it's pretty simple.

You basically take the code and XML output they give you and you make sure to give them full backlink and credit. As long as you do that, and the newspaper provides the RSS feed, you're usually okay. No agreements or anything that I've seen are necessary.

What I'm referring to is something like http://gaijinpot.com. If you click on their Japan News section they have full length news articles from MSN Mainichi Newspaper without having to leave their site. Are they having to pay a lot of money to do this?

Probably nothing, because in the top right corner of the news section there's a graphic with a hyperlink. That indicates the backlink credit that the provider (in this case, MSN Mainichi) is entitled to in exchange for content.

Do you have any idea how they set up such an agreement and how the content is updating? Do you think they are just copying and pasting manually?

Not sure if this one will allow full syndication with news, but have a look:

Japan News: The Black Ship

If you're looking for job syndications then possibly try here:

Japan Jobs: JobCube

As far as the news feeds go though, full syndication would be costly and I think that you could only buy them if you are incorporated.
