Ok,

I'm still new to Web designing and I was wondering how to make the navigation bar to "expand out" when the cursor is over it. An example of what I am talking about is here http://www.lakewood.cc/

If there is another thread describing this or a tutorial about it that would be helpfull.

That is done with Javascript. There are a few free code generators at Hotscripts.

You can also do that very easily with Fireworks. You could download the 30 day trial and make the nav bar using that.

You cna use JS & DHTML. Or you may try to use Flash MX to create your site with sucn a menu...
