Hello everbody,

I want to create a forum like this one with one of three programming languages: PERL Java or C/C++. But, the only problem is, I am not to sure how the architecture should look. I will not use one of the free ones out there; I want to code the entire thing so I know how it works and what to do if it chrashes. All I want is the how the backbone should look and nothing more. Thanks in advance for any help

Be creative. You can also get some people to test drive it then ask them if they like it, and if it's ready for the world. Also I recommend having lots of different templates because people like choice. Why do you think we all want a democracy. We all want choices.

So just make templates a choice and many people will like that.

I would assume that the OP isn't asking about the design. The question seems to be about the programming architecture, the underlying operation of the code, NOT what it should look like.

With C/C++ you could code the backend functionality but the UI would have to be coded in a server side language/script and obviously you would need to choose your target OS and data storage medium from the word go.

Possibly CodingForums.com- Web coding and development forums. Get help on JavaScript, PHP, CSS, XML, mySQL, ASP, and more! would be more help being more programmer orientated rather than webmaster orientated as we are.
