Hello I am so not understanding anything! OK I got a free auction script from http://www.xcent.com so I am (sort of understanding some of it) I know some html. I played with it some but useing a differant file! I think I understand it came to me in a zip file..so i opened it. so now the files are sort of mixed up to me for the first thing. so my fist question would be: does the real file have to be called the cgi file? becuse the file im looking at just says quick auction . and when i open it it shows 53 pages/files

I think it depends on scripting language in which it was written... If your script was written in PHP - it will be called like *.php...

ok..

So if I do manage to get all the html put in to make this auction site my own............. question : now that the folder has been opened and reworked how would I get it to upload to the host site(hypermart) ? .................see I had messed with this sript one other time and when i got it to upload to the host site it only showed the html and such not the finished site.... so i thought ok they sent it to me in a cgi folder so is that something i have to do to get it to work before uploading it?
