(hope I'm in the right category)

Can anyone tell me how you would go about controlling popups on a free server? Is it ok to do it?

thanxs

If your free host says that they have ads on your site, then removing them is a violation of their AUP and TOS. When doing this you run the risk of being removed from their servers.

Yes there *are* ways to do it, but I wouldn't, for the reason stated above.

Ight.

Thats what I thought. But how would you go about making your own popup? And do you know of any free servers that don't have popups or banners on the page? I wouldn't think there would be but you never know!

Thanxs

As for free hosting without ads of any sort, IllusionFXNet.Com. As for how to do popups, I can't remember exactly. It involves Javascript and an "onload" function for the body.

You can try 1 & 1 hosting. http://www.1and1.com they're offering free hosting for 3 years, no ads, no charge, limited time only - offer expires 1/21/04

I thought this was some sort of scam at first, but I've actually heard some good reviews and first hand testimonials that they are actually legit.

I don't have any personal comment, though. My sites are hosted through someone else...

[EDIT]
Might wanna read through their FAQs first.
