I'v made an banner animation/movie with Flash 8, but cannot figure out how to make it into a link, so it opens a new browser window and goes to the URL specified.

Hope someone can help me

Like make the whole thing into a link?

If you want just add: onClick="window.location.href='http://example.com';" to your object.

usually theres an option for you to link the banner on the program used.

Yes... the whole thing into a link.

What you said almost work... now the mouse pointer turns into a hand (as when over links), but nothing happens when i click the banner.

You can see the banner at www.faroesites.co.nr, click "portfolio" in the menu.... the banner is in the middle of the screen.

Keep in mind, i want to open the URL in a new window.

Can also note, that it is made in Macromedia Flash Professional 8

Never mind this question - problem is solved !


I had added the action-script to a fram insted of the button image.

It is possible to make an action script to a frame, that leads to another website, but the that kind of script is made in another way.
