Is it possible to retrieve files/data from a Linux based server once it has been deleted? I know it is possible to retrieve information from a windows desktop and that tools such as cyberscrub have been created to permanently delete data.

Do any tools such as cyberscrub exist for a Linux server. I am particularly interested in ensuring that access data that we regularly delete from a Mysql database is unrecoverable.

Thanks for any help.
