Howdy, howdy. Thanx for taking the time to read this. I'm new to web design, and have a descent understanding of HTML. I don't know any other programming or scripting languages. Now for my question. What is needed to have links that point to .zip , .doc, .pdf files. I want people to be able to download from my site, but I'm not sure what it envolves. I've tried Google, but I just can't seem to find a straight answer. I don't want anyone to do the work for me. I just need an explanation of what is needed to produce my desired result. Thanx for the patience ... I know most people can't stand noobs in any aspect of their lives. My site is currently under construction, but here's the link in case you're curious. Oh Boy!!

Just link to the files the same way you'd link to a .html page! The browser decides if a file should be decoded and displayed, or be downloaded as is!

I just wanted to be sure that I could <a href="whatever file">text</a> the links to all the tutorials, scripts, .exe. and .zip files that I will have available for download. Thanx again!!

That isn't true. Sometimes, depending on the file type (.mp3 and .doc for example), the browser will just try and open the file in the computers default program for that sort of thing. It's best to use some sort of PHP script to trigger the downloading.
