I'm not really sure where to post this as it's not really a coding question, but my problem is this. I have an asp page that opens an access 97 database that's on a network share. I can run it locally with my domain credentials, but when another person tries to use the page or I move it to another machine, I get an error that says the database is locked or permission denied. I've ruled out the fact that its locked and I know it's a permissions issue. The question is, how do I let the page execute with permissions to the share that are required without opening up the whole share?

Are you trying to use a drive letter or are you trying to use the share itself?

The drive letter, IIRC, will cause problems (haven't tried this in a while, though).

You'll probably have to do something like this:

"Data Source=\\computer-name\share-name-as-long-as-it-doesn't-have-a-$-sign-in-it\path-to-database-goes-in-this-part-here;"
