Hi, i'm noob in web design and has some very noob questions hope someone can help me... i'm trying to code a web design but i only noe how to use the 'slice' in photoshop and save the pics individually... but i can't seemed to slice pics with borders that are curved and in the end the pic display will come out as a rectangle....

i hope to create a simple layout like that http://www.hoops4life.com/mainsite/, but i still dun understand how to create the white BG where i can put all the stuff inside.. can anyone help me on this... thanks alot in advance...

everything in HTML is a rectangle

to create the illusion of rounded corners you would create your slice as a .gif and set the area outside the border to be transparent so the page background shows through.

You need to learn HTML rather than trying to build sites with an image editor (which creates crap HTML code anyway)
Your example is a fairly basic design and easily achieved with HTML & CSS, which is the way you should learn when starting from scratch.

Have a read in the HTML & CSS forums to get started (this will be moved there later)

A good place to start is at W3Schools. They have a lot of beginner tutorials for most everything about creating web pages. The tutorials are easy to understand and quick to get through.
