Hi there everyone.

Im having real real trouble getting my site to work nicely between IE7 and Firefox. I havent had time to test it on previous versions of IE recently but im pretty sure it was working fine.

Anyway... went to look at it on IE7 and its a horrible horrible mess

If you guys could just take a look at it in the different browsers and perhaps help me understand where im going wrong it would be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance

James

Actually, it's a horrible mess in IE 6 too.

Big tip - make your nav using an unordered list rather than images with a bunch of <br>s between them. You can put the images in as backgrounds to the LI items, then you have a nice, ACCESSIBLE, semantic navigation.

For IE 6 and below to center a fixed-width layout, put text-align: center on the body in your CSS.

You're using floats.. you must CLEAR your floats to make things work properly.

Nice design by the way

Wow - thanks for the in depth response... I will get to work right away

Also - is there a way you can use both IE7 and IE6 on one PC or is there not much point?

Yes, there are ways to have both, although I can't find my bookmark right now to a good source Do a search for 'standalone IE6' and I think you'll find several sources.
