A customer of mine wants to create a Customer Service section on their web site where their customers can log on using a user name and password and access their account details, place orders, etc.

They use Sage accounting software for their offline orders at present. Is it possible to link Sage to a web site or would I have to convert the data for use in MySQL or Access? If this is the case, how do I go about it? I've never done any data-driven web stuff so I could really do with a hand. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Sage, but if the you go to the Web site and they don't offer and Web collaboration modules, then there probably isn't any ...and to create it is at least a $10,000 job. Believe me, I worked for a company and that's we wid did, we integrated legacy software to be accesable from the Web.

Yes it is possible. Sage offer an ODBC connection with most of their Line 50 packages, but getting that to integrate with your web site is a massive job, and not feasible if you have no experience in the field.

We have done this kind of thing in the past and would be happy to undertake the work for you (obviously paying you a commission).

If you are interested in this proposition, please PM me
