I'm am against splash screens as they are sometimes long...

So, after I got associated with a german webmaster I know, we decided that his website was my german part and mine was his english part...

I need a script that will allow my user to choose between english and german on a splash screen once but will be automatically redirected to their choice the next times they visit...

Does anyone have a clue where I could get this?

Using cookies it'll be easy (but not 100% dependable because they can disable cookies). You could use either Javascript or a server-side programming language like PHP. Using Javascript is pretty easy, but you risk it not working because the user can disable that as well.
