I have had no luck looking for a script that will display a comment when the user mouses over a text link. Basically I want the same effect that the user gets when they mouseover an image, but with a text link instead. The closest I have come to finding this is on Alexa’s site, when you mouseover the “site info” text links next to the competitor sites. However, their script has way more functionality than I want. I just want simple text, like on an image mouseover.

Does anyone know where I can find this?

The title attribute of the <a> tag should be what you want. <a href="page.html" title="Go here to see the dancing bears">

If you want text formatting (bold, italic, etc) you can use DHTML and Javascript, sometimes they look nice
