Hey everyone hope the week is going well so far. Listen, they just moved me to a new office, and I'm curious to know my restraints. Supposedly we are connected through a local Cable Provider Brighthouse. http://www.brighthouse.com It's a buisness line I assume, and is routered off. Ok, so first question.

I'd like to know how I can see where my information is bouncing to and from. Also, if they have the ability to check without using this Cable Company to see where I've been. Is there a software or cmd line that will tell me this?

(Note: My intentions are purely innocent, I check this site, along with a few others related to seo/web design, and sometimes some music sites.)

I will be checking this all day, so if you need more information from me let me know, thanks for your time!

Not exactly sure what you are trying to do but I shall assume and plough on...

If you want to check where your requests are going to (machine wise) best way would be to run traceroute on a known IP address (google, yahoo etc) and then check the list of server bounces.

Hope that helps.

Jamie

I apologize for being so vague, let me elaborate.

I want to find out if my work network, runs through our personal server, or if it goes directly to the ISP. Basically I want to know if my work, is able to record my inquiries/data. This is what I got from the "tracert"

If it's like most business networks, your traffic goes through a server and/or a router/gateway. The internal IP you're accessing first (10.10.10.1) would suggest as such as well.

It's possible that you are being watched. It's not 100% one way or the other, but it's possible.

The only way to find out conclusively would be to start poking around at the server to see what's up.

Well, my thoughts were correct, it is just a buisness line split between routers. Now I may roam free! Thanks guys, and whats up Adam, thanks for the blog, without it, I'd be quite bored from 3-4. =D

There's another way. Start surfing lots of porn and reading Al Jazeera and see if anyone notices.
