I have a small Windows 2003 domain on my network that also acts as a Web server and Remote Desktop server. I was wondering if it was possible to add a computer outside of my network into this domain. My network consists of the server and several clients on a local network that is connected to the Internet through a NAT router. My cable ISP blocks port 80, but I can access my server computer from outside using FTP, Remote Desktop, and HTTP (when configured on an alternate port). Inside the network, the server acts as a DHCP server, maintaining a static IP address for itself which allows it to be configured as the router's DMZ computer. I don't know very much about Windows domains and how they work, and do not know what port(s) are required for computers to be added to the domain. I would also like to learn about setting up a VPN connection, and I have a feeling doing so is part of adding my outside computer to the domain. I would like to be able to connect my outside computer to my network so that it can access all file shares, etc. as easily as the internal computers. How can I do this, and is it required to connect my outside computer to the domain?
