i brought the ADSL+ROUTER having 4 ethernet sockets.. and WiFi also..
i also have 2 cross over cables..

so what next to do....

Set up the router and your laptop, while making sure you follow any instructions in your manual. Once you have your laptop up and running, and you can access the Internet, connect your machine to the router. Make sure you use a straight-through cable or else it will not work.

I suggest you enable DHCP on the router and set both your laptop and machine to allow the IP address automatically. Also make sure you check Obtain the DNS address automatically.

so i need striaght- through cable not the cross over cable..??

Yes you will need a straight-through cable. Basically you use a straight-through cable when:
PC to Switch
PC to Router
Switch to Router

However if the device is the same type, ie. PC to PC, Switch to Switch, you use a cross-over cable.
