I installed Microsoft Virtual PC last night after reading a tutorial on setting up Windows 98.

The Virtual PC loads Windows 98 but I can't get it to connect to the Internet. I had thought that it would find the Host PCs connection and share that but it hasn't.

Any ideas.

You must setup the networking elements in windows 98.

I've always used vmware, so I don't know about virtualPc driver needed for the virtual network card, but once it's set-up, it should be it.

Thanks for the link but that talks about the Apple Mac.

I have XP Pro as the host here.

he, I had even not seen that...
but it should not change anything...

If you have configured your virtual machine network connectivity as "virtual switch", the modifications doesn't have to be done in your windows XP, but in the windows 98 virtualized machine.

Nothing specific about the mac, as far as I understand it.

I've got it working now, now idea now.

Any ideas how to get it back out of full screen mode, I prefered it as a window with XP in the background?

Use Right ALT + ENTER to toggle between window and full screen mode.
Use Right ALT + Delete in place of CTRL+ALT+DELETE for your VPC.

If you want to move your mouse out of the VPC window, hit the Right ALT key. (Note the left one won’t work, has to be the right one). This will let your mouse exit the VPC window. Some OS have a driver to easily click between VPC and your desktop. Like I run XP VPC on Vista Ultimate so that I can run more versions of IE; I can easily click back and forth without hitting hotkeys.
