What makes the fun is to be caught up in the excitement of a new browser to play with, for web developers and web designers.

IE8.

What do you think of this?

Interesting, I may try it out when I get back home, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of a difference in comparison to IE7 asides from web developing tools. To me IE8 has really gotta make itself stand out as a web browser, especially with FireFox 3 on its way.

Hm... I'm not really sure how you are getting to that conclusion, although FireFox is the bomb. However, through IE7, Microsoft hinted that if they are serious, they can really put out a monster.

Personally, I'm looking forward to how IE8 will end up.

Hmm, reminds me of the early stages of Vista as well. I'm sure it'll all be worked out though... 5 years from now

Whatever versions MS releases for IE, i would never leave firefox.
Firefox just rocks and is having many awesome features advanced than the newer version of IE too.

Anyone tried this yet? It works horribly on my end. Hosted WordPress is a sad joke. Hover over a link, that preview thing tries to come up, and I get these funny arrows all over the place. When I try to highlight aka select text with the mouse I get something where I didn't click, and the arrow keys, well, they're a surprise.

I have been using today and have found several bugs with it so far that really kills the usability for me. I would definitely not using this as a primary browser at this point. However, it does have some very promising features to be excited about.

Everyone here is complaining about the rendering - from what I've heard, it is often not IE8's fault but the web designer's fault. Their server picks up that it is a version of IE and sends a stylesheet full of bug fixes and hacks which IE8 interprets and displays junk. People are so used to IE being a terrible browser, that they have set their servers up to send a buggy stylesheet to fix the issues regardless of the IE version.

IE8 has actually passed the Acid 2 web standards test - not even Firefox has passed this properly yet. IE8 is still in beta so there are bound to be a lot of problems with it, particularly since this is MS's first go at a standards compliant browser. However, hopefully IE8 will be the start of a new set of MS browsers that comply to web standards

I know it is, but if it is truely standards compliant why dont that make it ignore the if IE tag... it was created to fix its issues but if it has no issues it should ignore it

makes sense to me..

I feel that using Microsoft stable versions can sometimes be headache enough without trying out its beta, no thanks, I would rather wait until it is official. And even when it is official will wait for a few months first to let the guinea pigs test it out fully before I would even consider installing it.

i restired my system back now

Why cant people (in general and not just ms) when they do betas make them so they remain completely seperate from everything.

Why cant IE8 (while it is still in beta and not offically released) install and not interfere with anything else, so you can run IE 7 and IE 8 parrall
