Modern OS lack DOS OS especially Windows vista. From now modern days, is DOS is still in use or is anyone still use this OS
Modern Microsoft OSes don't lack DOS. The Command Prompt is still considered DOS, and it is used all the time by different professionals. I know I use it frequently to flush my DNS as well as for pinging servers.
I daily use DOS. Into directories in flash. because the os is too slow to rech with 5 sec. Don't feel embarrassed, at least it is knowldge and still very few people know about it.
Cheers to all DOS users.
all OSs have DOS, what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

i highly recommend learning dos commands! its so much quicker if you want to copy a harddrive to back it up open a number of items at once set the commands up in notepad save as a bat
and then runit whenever you need to i have a xcopy command that backs uyp my harddrive on a event timer that goes of everyday so i dont even have to worry about loosing my fiel
you can get a DOS window to come up from typing "cmd" in the "start search" box from the start menu.
i don't think we'll ever completely get away from DOS. i can remember arguing with classmates when i was in college over a decade ago who felt we shouldn't be learning DOS when Windows 95 was out. if you didn't know DOS, how did you recover from a system crash or install the software on a new computer?

DOS is not the same as a command prompt. Disk Operating System (DOS) was an actual Operating System that Windows 3.1 and to a lesser extent, Windows 95 ran on top of.
That being said, the command prompt is extremely useful. What would be better is if Microsoft ever gets around to implementing Monad, which is basically the bash shell for Windows. It allows really cool features (better scripting support, mounting the registry as a file system, etc).
