I have COX cable at home. I currently have a LinkSys WCG200 which is a combo cable modem, router, and wireless router all in one.

Over the past few months as Cox has upgraded their speed and network I have started having connection issues. With connections dropping all the time to various sites. Especially when dealing with FTP.

I hooked up the original modem that Cox gave me directly to my computer and most of the issues went away. Given that my WCG200 is nearly 4 years old, it doesn't surprise me that I'm having issues with it. And there are no firmware upgrades for it.

So, I am looking for recommendations on a replacement...

Should I do with a separate router and use a dedicated cable modem?

Anyone else have Cox and no connection issues?

I use a LINKSYS WRT54GS. Its just a router so if you go with this you'll need a dedicated modem. This seems to be one of their most popular items. I love it, my favorite thing about it is the fact that you can specify which Ethernet port gets more bandwidth =]

i am using huawei modem its its kinda good in performance.
