Anyone here knows anything about adding RAM to Laptops? I've got a HP Pavilion dv9000 and I'd like to add RAM to it and I don't know how to open the PC and add it, you think Best Buy Geek Squad can do it for me or is it cheaper to ask HP to do it, and would they?

Thanks

HP laptops have the memory either under a plate on the underside of the laptop, one screw to undo, lift off plate, fit memory refit plate and tighten back up.

Or it is under the keyboard and there is two or three sliders to pop back and tilt the keyboard up.

Worst thing you can possibly do is have the laptop powered up when fitting the memory.

Here is a guide:

Memory is easy to install and will take only seconds. Geek Squad will charge you a ton - not worth it for something so simple.

yes i no i have couple hp laptops (dv9000 is one of them)

all you do is flip the laptop. then you should see couple outlined boxes

in on of them there is a symbol of ram

you unscrew and install like you would in a desktop
