I have found out a cool website that will let you check who hosts a website.

http://who-hosts.com/

XD I checked Webmaster-Talk and it says Zydeca.net hosts them.
But o.O there empty.

Anyways check it out its pretty cool.

It doesn't know, when you ask about Google.

My unbiased opinion is ;

As a reverse DNS lookup tool, it's a complete bag of crap!!

If it's your's, dump it and save the hosting costs.

Anyway it's nice and fast tool. I have checked some websites and works good.

I know, I fixed it lol. It basically does a Reverse DNS on the IP - I'm assuming.

i think its more basic than that... it just looks at the nameserver host names

Rather rubbish core script made to look amazing, alot more could be done to this to improve is accuracy.

Cross checking should be a must here...

Close enough - give or take a couple of thousand wrong .

Then I tried a few tricky ones but didn't get any results.

... Sorry we couldn't find this site's host...

I guess it saves you the trouble of having to do a whois on a site. It's actually quite fast, but not entirely reliable.

Look I read your message and I use ping command for www.yahoo.com and returns me the ip 87.248.113.14 and after I check who host 87.248.113.14 and the asnver was
87.248.113.14 is hosted by: Yahoo.com

I think that a site is hosted by "himself" the tool display the message ... Sorry we couldn't find this site's host...

Well thats the thing all my sites come up as hosted by XDnet.co.uk which is in my nameservers...

but if it was doing it via the IP owner it would come up as Webhosting UK which is my supplier for my server

It doesn't use the nameservers - it uses a reverse IP lookup.

Well if it does reverse ip look up why does it come up as xdnet.co.uk as the host and not webhosting uk which own the IP?

Because whoever owns the IP probably bothered to change record just for you. Which is more than I can say for my datacentre.
