I need to install some fonts on my computer. I figured it would be just download the font file and save it to the fonts folder. But Uh...I'm an idiot.

True type and open type what is the difference?

Step by step how do I install a new font?

I have windows vista home edition on the computer I want to install it on.

On Vista, step by step is very easy.

UNZIP: Go to the zipped folder. Double-click on it to open it, then either click on "Extract all files" or drag and drop the files somewhere outside the zip window.

INSTALL: Select the font files (.ttf or .otf ) from within the Extracted Folder or where you dragged then right-click > Install

If you have any programs running you will need to quit and restart them before they see the newly installed font. Worse case scenario - if the fonts aren't showing up, restart the computer.
