Hello Friends,

I bought DG31GL Intel Desktop Motherboard. I am using Windows XP professional SP2, and installed All the drivers from motherboard driver's CD. All drivers are working fine. But there is Audio driver installation failure. It's showing "High Definition Audio bus" drivers failed to install.

Does anyone have idea to install these drivers. Please help me I am searching its drivers from last 2-3 days. Even drivers from intel's website doesn't match. Sound works fine on Windows Vista, but i want to use Xp prof. SP2

did/do they work with SP1 or Sp3?

Maybe you shoudl visit the tech guys website. They should be able to help you. I've had many problems with my laptop drivers before.

I have only SP2 so don't know it works on SP1 or SP2. But i have tested it on Vista & it works!

I'm suprised it worked on Vista but not XP. To me Vista is like the worst operating system.

Ya, I am also surprised that drivers working on newer O.S.(Vista) doesn't work on older one (XP)

suppose you have to do it manually.

Installation guide.
Running the audio driver. It should be extracted somewhere to your folder in C:\

First, go to Control Panel > System >Device Manager
OR Right click on My Computer, click Properties it will launch System
Click Hardware tab then click on Device Manager

This will then load the device manager as shown.

Right click on "audio device on high definition audio bus" and the select install driver
When prompt to access the internet, choose “No, not this time”
At the next window, choose “Install from a list of specific locations (advance)”
A list of hardware will be listed. Select “sound, video and game controllers”
Then select “have disk.”

Locate to your driver folder and search for the .inf file. Then move on until installation complete.
